About Us

Patient Care

The department operates two clinics—one in Großhadern and another in the city center—offering services for patients of all ages. They address a wide range of ENT conditions, including hearing impairments, middle ear inflammations, speech and voice disorders, swallowing difficulties, balance disorders, allergies, and tumors of the head and neck. The clinics are equipped with 102 beds and attend to over 3,500 inpatients annually.

Research Focus

Research activities are robust, with a particular emphasis on oncology, otology, skull base surgery, and reconstructive surgery. The department utilizes advanced surgical techniques, including laser and robotic surgeries, and investigates tumor metastasis, immunology, and interactions between tumors and the immune system. In audiology, research aims to develop new therapies for various degrees of hearing loss, including the use of cochlear implants
